Why is the fat content so high?Updated 5 days ago

We do this on purpose, and we're proud of it. 😜

We source grass fed and finished beef and keep the natural fat attached to the meat. We believe good quality fat from a healthy animal is genuinely good for you, and it's also what makes our biltong moist, juicy and flavourful.

Unlike most other snack brands that strip the fat and then coat the meat in sugars and artificial preservatives to add flavour, we let the quality of the fat do the work.

Our biltong contains approximately 22 - 29g of fat per 100g, and 0g of sugar or carbs.
