Why are there white spots on my meat sticks?Updated 5 days ago

No need to worry as this is completely safe to eat! 🙂

What you're seeing is called efflorescence, a natural phenomenon where salt and proteins migrate to the surface of the meat during the drying process, leaving a white powdery residue. It's a sign of a natural, traditional drying process and is perfectly safe to consume.

How to tell the difference between efflorescence and mould:

  • Efflorescence: powdery and dry to the touch
  • Mould: fuzzy or slimy to the touch

If your bag has significant white spots, please reach out to us and we'll make it right. 🙂
